Steam. Not the variety that forms on your bathroom window or in late-model Buicks at the old drive-in, but a brand spankin' new club night from DJ Slave1, aka Tina Berger-Everroad - our very first "Hey DJ" subject here at Club Hoppin' and the pied piper of Denver Gothic nightlife.

You know her from her regular Disintegration nights at Bender's (among other places), so we imagine you'll be first in line for her new venture tonight, and for good reason: She and fellow dark star DJ On1x will be spinnin' their usual potent cocktail of electro, synthpop and darkwave, but within the swank confines - and with the big stereo system - of Pure Nightclub. They'll also be giving away a pair of tickets to Saturday's Combichrist show at The Marquis Theater and hosting a CD release for the latest Franz Ferdinand album; combine that with $3 well drinks, the promise of "free shots throughout the night!" and close proximity to the light rail, and you're in business. Party business.

Steam will be held at Pure Nightclub, 2549 Welton St., kicks off tonight and is free to enter before 9:30 p.m. and only $5 after. 21 and over only.
