"CHICAGO (Reuters) - President-elect Barack Obama vowed on Tuesday to cut billions of dollars from wasteful government programs as he sought to reassure Americans anxious about a growing mountain of debt and a faltering economy.” — Barack Obama on the campaign trail.
The most massive expansion of Government in history is about to be signed by the same person who said those words just weeks ago. If he signs it, that will be another direct repudiation of what he said to get elected. In his recent Colorado opinion article in many papers, Chuck Green outlined 6 major campaign promises Mr. Obama broke in his first month in office. The above makes 7. Well, what did you expect from a major Chicago Ill. Democrat? This willingness to lie convincingly about anything and everything to get elected is a problem for Republican candidates as well, But it is the way of life and election for Democrats. Betsy Markey, Mark Udall, and Bennett are proving no different. They are touting this mess and “mis-stating” through their teeth about it as well. The Fort Collins Democrats who won the state house running on conservative lip service are doing the same. It is not about Republican and Democrats. It never was. It is about Conservatives and Liberals. It has always been that way. Conservatives tell the hard truth because they morally can do nothing else. Liberals promise the moon convincingly because they have no intention of delivering and no problem lying about it. They get away with it because the press refuse to call them on it - ever!? To me, that is lying as well. Welcome to Democrat controled America!! “We cannot sustain a system that bleeds billions of taxpayer dollars on programs that have outlived their usefulness or exist solely because of the power of a politician, lobbyist or interest group.” Barak Obama also on Campaign trail.
