Colorado casinos post 1st monthly gain in year

Colorado's mountain casinos posted an overall increase in January revenues, the first monthly gain since more than a year ago.

Total proceeds rose 1.5 percent to $57.5 million vs. the same month a year ago, the Colorado Division of Gaming reported Thursday.

Black Hawk and Cripple Creek each recorded higher revenue last month, while Central City continued to show a decline.

Black Hawk proceeds rose almost 1.7 percent, to $41.6 million. Cripple Creek revenues jumped 8.4 percent, to $10.7 million.

In Central City, revenues were down 11.2 percent, to $5.2 million.
