Pavarotti Forever
* Why it's cool: With the recent passing of the world's most famous opera singer, his Decca label has honored Luciano Pavarotti with a tribute in two forms: a two-CD set containing 41 beloved arias and songs (from Nessun Dorma to O sole mio), and a DVD featuring 20 performances culled from concerts around the world.
* How much: $17.99 (CDs); $29.99 (DVD)
* Who's it for: The casual, or neophyte, opera fan who just wants the hits.
Luciano Pavarotti - The Studio Albums
* Why it's cool: Decca has also re-issued 12 CDs individually and in a boxed set. Many had been out of print for years. His Christmas collection, O Holy Night, remains one of the biggest all-time holiday sellers (available only in the box).
* How much: $14.98 individually, $149.98 for the boxed set.
* Who's it for: For the serious opera lover - and Pavarotti devotee.
Vivere: The Best of Andrea Bocelli
* Why it's cool: This set, on the Sugar label, consists of a CD featuring the pop side of the beloved tenor and a DVD highlighting his concert at the Statue of Liberty. Plus, the cover shows a smiling Bocelli that's bound to set his female fans' hearts a-flutter.
* How much: $24.98
* Who's it for: Bocelli fans and anyone with romance in their heart and a Duraflame log in the fireplace.
Classical Destinations
* Why it's cool: This fine 13-part PBS series explores a number of European cities that served as home to the great composers. EMI has released a two-CD music collection and two-DVD set (encompassing all 13 episodes) that capture the sounds and sites of European classical-music history. Simon Callow's narration may be stuffy, but the beauty of the visuals and the music will thrill classical fans. There's also a handsome companion coffee-table book available from Amadeus Press.
* How much: $34.99 (DVDs), $18.98 (CDs), $30 (book).
* Who's it for: Those who love Europe's great cities and classical music's great composers.
