Holiday goods ready and waiting

Don't wait until the day after Thanksgiving to start your holiday shopping. Plenty of sales are out there to help you get a start on your gift list.

Check out Gifts for Yule, from noon to 6 p.m. today or 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, if you're looking for folk art, artful antiques, linens, hand knits, beads, soaps and more. The sale is at 1570 Clarkson St. (behind the Fillmore Theater), 303-618-3669.

You'll find hand-crafted gifts, holiday decorations, crafts and sweet treats at the Holiday Boutique, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 17 at the Blessed Sacrament Church, 4900 Montview Blvd., 303-355-7361.

More than 60 vendors will offer holiday décor, garden accessories, paintings, gourmet food, clothing, soaps, jewelry, pottery and more at the Denver Botanic Gardens Holiday Sale, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 17 and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 18. During the sale, admission will be free to the Gardens, at 1005 York St.

Don't miss Denver's Holiday Food and Gift Festival. The sale started Thursday, but there are still plenty of handcrafted gifts to be grabbed at the sale, which continues from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Colorado Convention Center. Tickets - $8.50 adults, $7 seniors 62 and older and kids 13 to 18, free ages 12 and under, are available at the door or at King Soopers; 888-412-5015.

At the Strictly Handcrafted Fair, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 17, you won't find a single imported item among these homemade and handcrafted goods. More than 30 vendors will offer jewelry, embroidery, jams, artwork and clothing. The sale takes place at the Creative Expressions Center at Tamarac Square Mall, 7777 E. Hampden Ave., No. 233; 720-227-8685.
